The HeaRT Project
The HeaRT project are a team of researchers working at Exeter university who are undertaking some important research about the importance of the voice of the child in decisions that are being made about them, in Mediation.
The team have now recruited 26 of their target of 30 parents and young people and they ideally need to recruit at least 4 more children by the the end of February.
They have had some fantastic data from the interviews, particularly interviews with the young people, and it would be so good if they could maximise the evidence base and achieve the numbers we set out to interview. The interviews are about the process so are not intrusive and, as an incentive, we give a £20 voucher to parents whom we interview and a £15 voucher for the interviews with young people.
As part of Mediation Week, that in collaboration with the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) and the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC), we have produced a short animation on the experience of a fictitious young person who met with a mediator, ‘Tom’s Story’.
